Savoy’s Knit & Stitch – your knitting movie highlight!
Anna Allers has been organizing the most beautiful knitting meetings and events in Hamburg since 2021. Together with the Savoy, she cordially invites you to our knit cinema experience.
Even before the movie starts, we meet for a relaxed exchange. A welcome drink is included. Afterwards, we will go into the auditorium together to enjoy the movie in the original language.

Love story based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks about a couple who fall in love as teenagers and get back together after the Second World War.
To sweeten the day of an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer’s, the ageing Duke (James Garner) reads her a story. It is about the young Noah (Ryan Gosling), who comes from a poor background, and how he falls in love with Allie (Rachel McAdams), a daughter from a wealthy family who has travelled to the area in the early 1940s. Allie’s arrogant mother is not at all pleased and torpedoes the relationship relentlessly in the eventful years that follow. But Noah does not give up. Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, who has already written the original for „Message in a Bottle“ and „Only with You“, Nick Cassavetes („John Q.“) delivers a love story that is particularly convincing thanks to its actors. In a nursing home, a man reads stories from an old notebook to a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. They tell of the love between Noah and Allie, teenagers from different backgrounds who meet in a small coastal town in North Carolina around 1940, are separated by the Second World War but, convinced that they are destined for each other, eventually return home. However, fate has initially planned separate paths for them. An old man regularly visits a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s in a nursing home, to whom he reads stories from a faded notebook. It is about the love between Noah and Allie, he a labourer in a mill, she a wealthy debutante, who met in a small coastal town in North Carolina in 1940. Separated by the Second World War, the two are later reunited, convinced that they are destined for each other. But Allie is now engaged to the rich soldier Lon.
