With its next edition, Torture the Artist pres. eDEMi welcomes a true digger’s digger: E. Alexander.

Having relocated from Edinburgh to London following a formative moment at fabric, E. Alexander

has spent over two decades quietly carving out his place within the underground. Known for his

deep knowledge, refined taste, and patient approach behind the decks, he has become a

respected figure across London’s circuit, with appearances at intimate hotspots and institutions

alike.

As the driving force behind Mui Mui Records, his curatorial instinct extends far beyond the booth.

The label has built a reputation as a “buy on sight” imprint, showcasing artists such as Bernard,

John Manhard, illi, Silverling, and Harry Wills – all reflecting E. Alexander’s sharp ear for timeless,

understated club music.

His DJ sets mirror this philosophy. Rooted in stripped-back House and deep Techno, they move

fluidly between US house, 2000s minimal, and tech house, while drawing subtle influence from

across the wider spectrum of electronic and Black music traditions. Inspired by figures like Zip,

Craig Richards, Ricardo Villalobos, Margaret Dygas, and Prosumer, his sound balances heritage

with forward motion – always evolving, never static.

For this edition, eDEMi presents a tightly curated lineup across both stream and club space. The

pre-event stream features Li:Dl (Ba Dum Tish, Sputnik Sound), No Caller ID (Sputnik Sound), E.

Alexander, Holger Breuer, and Selin, a rising Berlin talent returning for her second appearance.

At the main event in the Anbau at Haus 73, E. Alexander is joined by Li:Dl, No Caller ID, and

Holger Breuer, the driving force behind Torture the Artist. Li:Dl brings releases on Alec Falconer’s

Punchline series, while No Caller ID continues to shape the Sputnik Sound identity – together

reinforcing the connection between London’s underground and Hamburg’s evolving scene.

With E. Alexander at the helm, this edition once again highlights Torture the Artist’s commitment

to deep, thoughtful club music and meaningful exchange between scenes. Another carefully

placed booking – and another chapter in the ongoing story of eDEMi.
